Kia Motors Corporation is building a $1 billion automotive assembly and manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia, just eight minutes from Bryant Lake LaGrange. The plant, situated on 2,200 acres and comprised of training, design and administrative buildings as well as production facilities, will be Kia’s first manufacturing plant in the U.S. and is scheduled to begin production in 2009. In addition, several suppliers to Kia Motors will be located at the plant and in the area.

Troup County and the region, which is already known as “the corridor of growth,” will see significant economic development and the resulting quality-of-life benefits.
